BPC-157

Popular for tendon and gut healing. Rodent research is extensive, but well-controlled human trials don't exist yet.

BPC-157 is a synthetic peptide derived from a protein found in gastric juice. Most of the research comes from a small number of laboratories and was done in rats.

What the research shows

  • Animal studies report faster healing of tendon, ligament, muscle and gut injuries.
  • Human data is limited to a few small, uncontrolled reports. There are no published randomized controlled trials.
  • Long-term safety in humans is unknown.

Regulatory status

In 2023 the FDA placed BPC-157 in Category 2 for compounding pharmacies, citing possible immune reactions and a lack of safety data. The World Anti-Doping Agency prohibits it in sport.

Doses used in research

No human dose has been established. This compound hasn't been through published human dosing trials, so any dose you see online comes from anecdote, not research.
